Michael Blumson
Michael Blumson is a
Program Coordinator for the Low Income Housing Institute, which
provides over 1600 units of affordable housing in Western
Washington and operates 4 buildings in South Lake Union. The
buildings serve a variety of community members, from recent
refugee families, to low-income seniors, to providing
reduced-rent workforce housing to people employed in the
neighborhood. LIHI hopes to help South Lake Union develop in a
way that provides for the prosperity of all members of the
community. |

Jerry Dinndorf
Jerry Dinndorf is the
Seattle District Manager for the Associated General Contractors of
Washington (AGC). AGC is the oldest and largest commercial
construction trade association in the state of Washington, in
existence for more than 80 years. It has nearly 600 member
companies with over 30,000 employees. The chapter headquarters of
AGC has been located in the South Lake Union neighborhood since
1970 in a building the Association constructed and own. A long
term land owner, property manager, and advocate for its
membership, the AGC has a strong interest in the health and
vitality of the South Lake Union neighborhood and the City of
Seattle. As Seattle District Manager Mr. Dinndorf's
responsibilities include industry relations with local governments
and a variety of membership support functions. He has over 30
years of experience in transportation and growth management
planning and advocating for these issues. |

Lloyd Douglas
Current President of the Cascade Neighborhood Council, founding member of the Cascade Farmer's Market Committee, 2009 Ambassador of the Year — SLU Chamber of Commerce, board positions of other neighborhood organizations.
Lloyd is an active participant in the Urban Design Framework, the current SLU Neighborhood Plan and one of the principal writers of the policy priorities list in the Neighborhood Plan.

Dan Foltz
Dan is a design principal at Weber Thompson, a full-service
architectural design firm that has been located in South Lake
Union for 22 years. The firm moved in to its award-winning
office building at Terry and Thomas in 2008. Dan has 30 years of
comprehensive professional design and planning experience, both
domestically and internationally, with a background in multiple
project types including residential, commercial and mixed-use
projects for a wide range of markets.
Dan served on the Area 3 (South Lake Union, Queen Anne,
Magnolia) design review board for four years and was chair of
that group his last year. More recently, Dan was actively
involved in the South Lake Union Urban Design Framework. In
addition to serving on the board of SLUCC, Dan is a co-chair of
the Policy and Planning Committee.
Dan feels that now, and for the foreseeable future, is a
critical window in time that will potentially influence the
future of our important neighborhood more than ever. The onus to
“get it right” has never been greater and Dan feels honored to
be a part of SLUCC in the ongoing and future planning efforts to
help make South Lake Union as vital and livable as it can be.

Molly & Joshua Franklin
Molly and Joshua moved to
Seattle in 2003 and have found themselves at home in South Lake
Union, where they live with their two young children near
Cascade Playground. They love running into neighbors and are
drawn to/working on the transition of Cascade People's Center as
well as overlapping issues such as urban families with children,
sustainable land use, fostering community response-ability and
transportation. |

Lorie Groth
Lorie is a freelance program manager and creative writer recently
returned from London and chose to live in South Lake Union. A
resident of South Lake Union, Lorie is also an avid fan of
seaplanes, green space, active mini-parks, public transportation &
community responsibility. Lorie joined SLU Community Council to help build South
Lake Union into a wonderful place to live and work.

Mike Kenney
South Lake Union Community Council board member Mike Kenney is a
Seattle native and small business owner in the South Lake Union
neighborhood.
Sharing a passion for giving back to the community that has been a
part of the Kenney family for three-generations, Mike contributes
his time to the Puget Sound Heart Walk,Rebuilding Together Seattle,
The Forgotten Children's Fund and O'Dea High School.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Arizona where he earned a
bachelor's degree in finance and was a two-sport stand-out athlete
at O'Dea High School.
In his spare time, the South Lake Union resident enjoys boating and
snowboarding and often can be found on the golf links where he
sports a 6-handicap.

Pearl Leung
Pearl is the Community Relations Manager for Vulcan Inc. and has
had the pleasure of working alongside South Lake Union community
stakeholders since 2005. With her background in urban planning,
Pearl joined the Community Council with a keen interest in
seeing South Lake Union continue to grow into a more holistic
urban neighborhood. In addition to the Community Council, Pearl
is also active in other neighborhood efforts including the South
Lake Union Chamber of Commerce, the Cascade Farmer's Market
committee, Cascade People's Center, and the South Lake Union
Friends of the Arts committee.

Mike McQuaid
A third generation Seattleite, Mike McQuaid is president of
McQuaid & Co. Strategic Communications in downtown Seattle. Mr.
McQuaid's work includes active community involvement. In 2009,
he was appointed by Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels to the Seattle
Sister Cities Coordinating Council. He also serves as president
of the Society of the Friends of St. Patrick and is a trustee of
the Virginia V Foundation. He also contributes his time with
Seattle Children's Hospital, the Washington Wine Commission's
Auction of Washington Wines, The Center for Wooden Boats, serves
on the board of Row for the Cure, a national regatta series
benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the advisory board
of the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame in Boise, Idaho.
Mr. McQuaid studied at the Edward R. Murrow College of
Communication at Washington State University where he earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree. As a competitive rower, he was named to
the All Pac-10 Rowing Team while at WSU and won a National
Championship for Philadelphia's Vesper Boat Club.
In his spare time, Mr. McQuaid races sailboats on Puget Sound
and is an avid skier. Mike, his wife Shannon and their Labrador
— make their home in Seattle's Queen Anne Hill neighborhood.

Dawn Oliver
Dawn is the Director of Development and Admissions for Morningside
Academy, a non-profit school dedicated to providing a community
service to help children and youth to catch up and get ahead. Some
students may have a learning disability, attention deficit
disorder or another disability. Some may not have any disability.
All students have average or above average intelligence. Dr. Kent
Johnson, Founder and Executive Director, began the school in
Seattle 25 years ago in his living room. The school today is under
the leadership of both Dr. Johnson and Dr. Joanne Robbins and has
evolved to be an on-site laboratory school for Grades 1-9. Another
division of Morningside is the teachers' academy with an on-site
division that trains teachers each summer and an outreach program
that travels to train teachers in other parts of the country and
the world. The school's home is in the heart of South Lake Union
on Westlake Avenue North.
Dawn is delighted to help the school to become an integral part of
this neighborhood while also serving to safeguard the best
interests of the community by serving on the Board.

Steven Paget
Steven Paget is an associate with OAC, Services, Inc., a 50 person
firm based in South Lake Union providing innovative building and
process solutions to public and private clients. Steven consults
to a wide variety of public and private organizations
facilitating sustainability strategies for the
built-environment, value analysis studies, urban planning, and
value-based charrettes. He has been a member of the South Lake
Union Community Council since 2002 and president of the Board
for the past three years. Steven is committed to helping create
a vibrant SLU and has provided leadership in visioning
charrettes, development of urban design guidelines, and
neighborhood planning. To help promote sustainable development
policies, he sat on the advisory group for the South Lake Union
LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot study.
