ST Link North Alignments

When the Sound Transit Board made its decision November 2001 to begin building an initial link segment from downtown Seattle nearly to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, it also strongly re-affirmed its commitment to extending the light rail line north to the University District and Northgate. The northbound segments from downtown will have either direct or indirect impacts (depending on the alignment chosen) on the SLU/Cascade neighborhoods. Contact Sound Transit for the most up-to-date information. Conceptual engineering for the draft supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be completed during Spring and Summer 2002. The draft supplemental EIS is anticipated to be completed this fall with the Sound Transit Board scheduled to select a preferred route alternative in January 2003.
